Rostered for Basketball

Run your basketball club
from one app.

Club basketball compresses a lot into a short season: multiple games a weekend, gym slots that move, and travel teams whose families need to know the plan a week out.

Scheduling

Basketball scheduling
across four gyms.

Games, practices and tournament days at club, division or team level, in one schedule families can subscribe to.

Two teams in one family, two schedules

Rostered keeps one schedule and attaches each game or practice to the teams it concerns, so a family with a 12U and a 15U sees their two schedules rather than the club’s entire schedule. The calendar feed they subscribed to in October updates itself when a tip-off time changes in January, without anyone resending anything.

Which gym, and what the drive looks like

Every event carries its venue, which matters in a sport where "which gym" is the most-asked question of the week, along with the court within it, the address, and the forecast for the drive. Clubs that run out of three or four buildings can stop answering the same question by text on Saturday mornings.

One notification per change, not per edit

A change sends one notification for that event rather than one per edit, so moving a game and then correcting the gym does not notify the same families twice. Practices that repeat are a series, so a family can mute a recurring Tuesday session they never need reminding about while still hearing about games.

RSVPs & attendance

Who is at the gym
on Saturday.

Per-athlete availability, chased automatically, with attendance marked courtside.

Asked individually, answered anywhere

Each athlete is asked individually and families answer in the app or on the web, as attending, not attending, or maybe. Rostered tracks the invitation as sent, viewed and answered separately, so silence is readable: the parent who opened it on Tuesday and never replied is a different problem from the parent whose email bounced.

Reminders chase the gaps, not everybody

Reminders go only to the families who have not answered and link straight to the game rather than to a homepage. The coach sees confirmed, declined and pending with names, updating as replies arrive, and can have a summary emailed instead of checking the app between sessions.

Saturday yes, Sunday no

Tournament weekends are answered per day, because a family who can make Saturday and not Sunday is the normal case in club basketball. On the day, attendance is marked present or absent courtside from a phone, and absences can be excused with a reason, so a player who told you in advance is distinguishable from one who simply did not turn up.

Rosters

Basketball rosters,
guards through centers.

The five positions, jersey numbers and guardian contacts, on the bench where you need them.

Point guard through center

Rostered carries basketball’s positions as the sport uses them: point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward and center, with jersey numbers and the guardian contact a coach needs when a player turns an ankle in the third quarter and their parent is not in the gym.

7U to 19U, kept navigable

Clubs fielding teams from 7U through 19U use divisions, teams and cohorts to keep that navigable. An athlete belongs to a cohort by graduating year, and cohorts are assigned to divisions per season, so the group that was 12U is 13U next year without anyone editing a hundred records in August.

Siblings in different age groups

Families hold several athletes under one login, which in a sport where siblings frequently play in different age groups at the same club is the difference between a parent checking one app and ignoring three. Move a player up a team and their schedule, availability and Huddle membership follow in the same edit.

Team communication

Tell the team once,
reach every family.

Auto-created team and division Huddles, reactions instead of forty replies, and payment requests for tournament fees.

A Huddle as soon as the team exists

Each team and division gets a Huddle the moment it exists, with membership following the roster, so nobody has to be added and nobody who left is still reading. Reactions absorb the acknowledgments. Attachments keep the bracket and the gym map with the message rather than in somebody’s camera roll from three weekends ago.

Mention a role, not a list of names

Role mentions reach @coaches or @guardians as the people currently holding that role in that Huddle, and a Huddle can be put in announcement mode when the club wants something read rather than debated. Individual events can carry their own Huddle, which is useful when one tournament needs its own thread and should not clutter the team’s.

Coaches get their own Huddles

Coaches also get Huddles of their own, at club, head coach and division level, which is where the conversation about Sunday’s rotation belongs rather than in a thread forty parents are reading. Direct messages and custom groups cover everything that is neither a team nor the whole club.
