TeamLinkt Alternative for Clubs and Associations
Considering alternatives to TeamLinkt? What Rostered does for a club or association, what it does not do, what it costs, and how to move a roster across without retyping it.
Looking for a TeamLinkt alternative?
The moment a club outgrows a single team, the software question changes. It stops being “can a coach post a schedule” and becomes “can two hundred families, forty volunteers and a board all find the same information without anyone being copied into a group chat they cannot leave”.
This page covers what Rostered does. We are not going to describe somebody else’s product for them, read theirs on their own site. What follows is ours, limitations included.
Built club-first, not team-first
Most sports apps start with a team and try to grow upwards into a club. Rostered starts with the club: divisions, teams and cohorts are the structure, and families are first-class records rather than a list of email addresses attached to a player.
That distinction shows up in the places that annoy people:
- One parent account covers every child, across every team and division. No second login for the second kid.
- A family calendar feed carries the whole household, so a parent with a U12 and a U16 subscribes once.
- RSVPs are answered per athlete, so one family gives three answers rather than one ambiguous one.
- Moving a player between teams is an edit, not a re-registration.
If your club is not monolingual, read this part
Rostered can translate a team message on request and keep the original alongside it, and a translation is refreshed when the message is edited rather than quietly describing the previous version. Club email campaigns handle multiple languages too.
For a club with Spanish-speaking families, this is usually the whole decision. The alternative is running the conversation twice, which in practice means running it once and hoping.
What Rostered does
- Scheduling and calendars: club, division and team events including multi-day tournaments, with five calendar feed types that keep updating in Google, Apple and Outlook.
- RSVPs and attendance: per athlete, per day, with reminders that link straight to the event and a live count for the coach. Sent, viewed and answered are tracked separately, so silence is readable.
- Team messaging: auto-created team and division channels, reactions, attachments, role mentions, translation, and payment requests that carry a Venmo or PayPal link.
- Rosters, families and imports: divisions, teams, cohorts, jersey numbers and positions, with spreadsheet import.
- Family registration: public signup page where enabled, admin review queue, matching against existing families, enforcement that is advisory by default.
- Volunteers: jobs on an event or standalone, self-maintaining slot counts, withdrawal alerts.
- Live scoring and expenses.
Where Rostered is the wrong answer
- You need a public website built and hosted. We do not do that.
- Your sport is not yet in the live scoring catalogue. Ask us. That list grows on demand.
We would rather lose a club at this paragraph than at the demo.
Moving an association across
The import is the part that decides whether a migration happens at all, so it is deliberately not a black box: map your columns, preview every family before anything is created, and decide whether welcome emails go out. Migrating in the off-season without notifying two hundred families is a supported choice rather than a support ticket.
Questions worth asking anyone, including us
- Is the price published, or do you have to ask?
- Does the club pay, or do the families?
- Are parents shown advertising?
- Can you export your own data without contacting support?
- Does one parent login cover several children?
- Does it work without installing an app?
- What happens to the price when you add a team in October?
- If half your families speak another language, what actually happens to a club announcement?
