Stack Sports Alternative for Youth Sports Clubs
Looking at alternatives to Stack Sports? Rostered is one app for the club season rather than a suite of products. What it does, what it does not, what it costs, and how to move a roster in.
Looking for a Stack Sports alternative?
A lot of youth sports software is sold as a suite: a product for registration, another for the website, another for the team, another for payments, each with its own login and its own idea of what a “family” is. It works, in the sense that a filing cabinet works.
Rostered is the other approach, one app, one login, one place a parent checks. This page covers what that gets you and where it falls short, without describing anybody else’s product for them.
One app, and what that actually changes
When scheduling, RSVPs, messaging, rosters and attendance live in the same product, things stop needing to be kept in sync by a person:
- A schedule change reaches the calendar a family already subscribed to, and notifies the affected people, and the RSVPs move with it.
- A family that joins the club joins its team’s message channel, because membership follows the roster rather than someone’s contact list.
- A coach marking attendance is looking at the same athletes the RSVPs were answered for.
- A parent with children in two divisions has one login, one calendar feed, and one app to check.
That last one is the quiet reason adoption succeeds or fails. Parents do not adopt four tools. Most will not reliably adopt two.
What Rostered does
- Scheduling and calendars: club, division and team events, multi-day tournaments, and five kinds of calendar feed that keep updating in Google, Apple and Outlook.
- RSVPs and attendance: per athlete, per day, with reminders linking straight to the event and a live count for coaches. Invitation state (sent, viewed, answered) is tracked separately from the answer.
- Team messaging: auto-created channels, role mentions, attachments, reactions, on-request translation, payment requests carrying a Venmo or PayPal link.
- Rosters and families: divisions, teams, cohorts, families as records, spreadsheet import with preview.
- Family registration: public signup page where enabled, review queue, matching against existing families.
- Volunteers: event-attached or standalone jobs with self-maintaining slot counts.
- Live scoring: sideline scoring with push updates and box scores.
- Expenses: receipt scanning with AI data entry, reports and approvals.
What Rostered does not do
- No public website builder or hosting.
- Live scoring covers many team sports, not every sport. Ask, and demand moves the list.
If one of those is the center of your problem, a suite may genuinely suit you better. We would rather tell you here.
Questions worth asking any platform
- Is the price published, or do you need a call to find out?
- How many separate products and logins are involved in running one season?
- Who pays, the club, or the families?
- Are parents shown advertising?
- Can you export your own data yourself, today?
- Does one parent account cover several children across teams and age groups?
- When a game moves, how many places does someone have to update it?
- What is the notice period to leave?
Bringing your club across
Import a spreadsheet, map the columns, and preview the result before anything is created. Whether welcome emails go out is your choice at import time, useful when you are migrating out of season and do not want two hundred families notified at once.
